Turkey — Ukraine Route: Overland or Ferry

Turkey and Ukraine share no border. Two options are available: an overland route in transit through Romania and Bulgaria, or a ferry crossing over the Black Sea. We pick the scheme by urgency and volume: the ferry saves mileage, while the overland route is often more predictable in timing. Indicative transit time is 5–9 days depending on the route and border queues.

Customs Clearance

As Turkey is outside the EU, the EU transit simplifications do not apply: the cargo is processed as an import from a third country. We issue the CMR waybill and escort the cargo at the border; you provide the invoice, packing list and the supplier contract. A certificate of origin is arranged if your product group requires one — check with the manager.

FAQ — Delivery from Turkey

How long does delivery from Turkey to Ukraine take?

Approximately 5–9 days. The overland route runs through Romania and Bulgaria, the ferry route crosses the Black Sea. The exact term depends on the scheme chosen and the border situation.

Which is cheaper — ferry or overland?

It depends on volume and the loading point. For cargo from western Turkey the ferry is often cheaper; from central regions, the overland route. We quote both and show the difference.

Can I ship groupage from Turkey?

Yes, part loads work when you have a few pallets: you pay for your volume only, not for a whole truck.

What documents are required for transport from Turkey?

We issue the CMR waybill. You provide the invoice, packing list and supplier contract. As Turkey is outside the EU, the cargo goes through full customs clearance and we escort it at the border.

Do you collect cargo at the supplier in Turkey?

Yes, we collect from the supplier’s warehouse and deliver to yours in Ukraine. We need the loading address, contacts and cargo details.
